Harriers Tuesday training session

Tuesday - training at Millfield track, Street. All Year round using the Track or surrounding fields. Middle distance and endurance training for road races and cross-country. Time: 6.20pm for a 6:30 start for athletes aged 16 and upwards. (Younger athletes by invitation only if suitable standard). Register at beginning of session track-side.

1K, 2K, 1K, 2K, 1K (90 s recovery after 1 K reps, 3mins after 2K).

Juniors: 1 K, 2K, 1K (90s recovery after 1 K, 3 mins after 2K);

 

21st Nov

Track: 3 * 6 * 300m (jog 100m); 1 lap slow jog between sets

Junior: 2 * 5 * 300m (jog 100m); 2 lap slow jog between sets

 

28th Nov

8 mins effort, 90 s recovery: 8 * 1 min (1 min recovery): 8 mins effort

Juniors: 6 mins effort, 2.5 mins recovery; 6 *1 min (1 min recovery): 6 min effort

 

5th Dec

 5 * 4 mins (1 min recovery) on grass, followed by 6 * 200 m sprints (200m walk/slow jog recovery) on the track

Juniors: 2 * 4 mins ( 1 min recovery), miss one, 2 * 4 mins (1 min recovery) followed by 4 * 200m sprints (200m walk/slowjog)

 

12th Dec

Oregon circuit: 10 x 400m on the track: 1 minute recovery in which circuit type activities will take place exercising upper body, core and legs.

Juniors: 2 * (4 * 400m) with 1 minute recovery in which circuit type activities will take place exercising upper body, core and legs. 5 mins between sets

Street 5K on Wednesday 13th December

19th Dec

Christmas Parlauf – paired teams of runners (handicap based on 5 K time) running alternating laps of the track each for 30 minutes.

Curry afterwards at The Elms

26th Dec
