Baltonsborough Bank Holiday Road Races

 

The sun shone on all taking part in the series of races on the Bank Holiday weekend races.  A 1.5 mile race and a 5 mile race attracted over 100 runners held in conjunction with the annual Baltonsborough Show.

 

The 5 mile road race, now in its 18th year, saw the Wells Juniors Curtis Stevens, Charlie Martin and Rebecca Carver finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd competing in the 1.5 mile race  with Curtis’s  winning in a time of 5.52 mins, Rebecca 1st junior female clocking 6.26 mins.  Callum Moir and Hayley Carver finished 7th and 10th respectively.

 

The Fun Runners over the same distance had Wells golden veteran Colin Turner turning out amongst the senior finishers.

 

The 5 mile race was dominated by Nathan and Keiran Young representing Bristol & West AC who finished 1st and 2nd clocking 27.50 and 28.47 with Laura Parker 1st senior female, 3rd overall in a time of 29.45 and Alex Wiltshire 4th.  Les Lock (South West Vets) 2nd V50.  A trio of Harriers young and old finished in succession:  Reuben Whitcombe 12th , Paul Knight 13th , Gary Tubridy 14th.
