Harrier training in groups resumes at Strode College Sports Centre on the grass field behind the Sports Centre on Monday December 7th for juniors aged 8-15 and on Tuesday December 8th for seniors and those aged 14 and above. We are again delivering these Club-based sessions according to the UK Govt Guidance and the England Athletics Guidance. The venue at Strode College is deemed a Covid-secure environment with good protocols in place and we have satisfied the Sports Centre’s requirements with our own Harrier Risk Assessment for delivering these training sessions.

Monday junior sessions – December 7th & 14th – please register with Paul by the Sunday before (6th/13th) if you are a Harrier member and wish to attend the session. Session starts at 6pm and finishes at 7pm

We await to see what other XC Championships or races wil take place in 2021 – the main requirement seems to be having a secure environment which does not use any public fields. We have a similar situation with road-races and multi-terrain races with two of the Harrier sponsored events now being either cancelled or postponed: NO Babcary 7.5 mile road race in February 2020; & Butleigh 10k Multi-terrain to be postponed – decision to be taken in Spring as to whether it can happen in, say, Autumn 2021.

Provisional date for English XC Championships (ie the National) is Saturday March 6th but we wait to see if they can find a secure environment for it to take place. (Announcement due soon)

One that is going ahead: Gloucester Half and Full Marathon

We are advised that the Gloucester Half/Marathon & 50k road races are taking place on Sunday 28th February at the Castle Combe Racing Circuit. This is a multi-lap race over closed private roads. Full information and entries can be made from this link here.

If folk hear of other races taking place in the New Year please let me know so that we can promote the race on the Harrier website! This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
