Dan Maydew enjoyed his first international call up in Italy this past weekend. Competing as part of a 4-man TeamEngland u20’s squad at the 10km road race at Oderzo, near Venice, in the annual invitational against the best u20s from across Europe.

He ran a personal best of 32.57, despite suffering from a stitch. He helped the team gain a place on the podium. This will have been a great experience for Dan who is now off to start his University studies.

Coming up:

Good luck to the teams competing this coming weekend at Aldershot in the road relays, and to Jon James and Anna Lewis-Davies who are running in their respective age categories for England at the Veterans Road Championships.

Training News:

Monday junior sessions are currently full with 40 juniors attending and a waiting list of 3. We hope many of them will compete at the cross country fixtures, and/or at the monthly Street races. Any enquiries to Graham whilst Paul is away. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Tuesday sessions: From1st October we would like as many as possible to start paying by Card for the training sessions - £20 per Qtr (that means up to 13 sessions). This is to enable us to move away from collecting large amounts of cash.

Please pay at either the 4th or 11th October session when Graham will be there with the card reader. If you simply can’t pay upfront for your sessions, or think you are only going to attend very occasionally then pay £2.50 for that individual session (price rise to encourage folk to pay by Card, and also to reflect anticipated higher costs for floodlighting)

I’m away now for a while so any news items will be on pause unless someone volunteers to make the weekly web posting. News & good photos to Graham in my absence.
