Wells City Harriers encourages athletes of all ages and abilities to train and compete for us. We have runners joining us from Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Street, Frome, Bruton, Castle Cary, Wincanton, Somerton, Langport and Yeovil amongst other towns. Our junior track & field and cross-country training and teams are amongst the best in the region. We offer athletic competition at all disciplines - road, multi-terrain, fell-running, track and field, cross-country. This page carries relevant information and detail about Harrier training and some of the competitions we take part in along with team mangement information. Regular updates appear on here and will be highlighted on the front page or on the calendar. Every Harrier member should make sure they keep abreast of team opportunities coming up and speak to coaches at training sessions. It is the athletes responsibility to ensure their Club membership is up to date (either at Yeovil Olympiads or at the Harriers)- and to make early contact with team managers if they wish to be entered for or considered for a team event. Good Luck with your training & your competitions this season!
Wells City Harriers are affiliated to the Somerset County Athletics Association, and through affiliation to England Athletics we have the appropriate insurances and policies in places to run a Club of our nature and size. Details of our qualified coaching staff and training groups can be found on the Harrier website; and latest news on team competitions here. We also affiliate every year to the South of England Athletic Association as a competition provider in order to compete as individuals or with teams in Southern regional Championships. Join the Club to benefit and play your part!
4 of the Harriers talented junior athletes meet the Club's President Mary Rand in 2012 to hear about her medal winning achievements in the 1964 Olympics. Who would have guessed that 3 of this quartet would go on to represent their country within 5 years of this photo being taken? That's a great achievement!
