Race the Night 5k!
The 31st Series of the Clive & Angela Thomas Street 5k was concluded on Wednesday (11th March) with overall Series winners Matt Lusby (Street Striders) and Gill Pearson (Running For Time) being crowned King & Queen of the Street 5k Series for 2019/20. There was some great running on the night by all participants including a good contingent from Bristol University and a number from the Wells Up & Running group all having their first run at Street and now hopefully enjoying their Cider or Apple juice. First on the night was Nathan Williams (Vale Royal AC) who came down from Bristol Uni and ran 16.12; whilst first for the women was fellow student Natalia Hackett in 18.18. In the junior1k and 2k races, the Series winners were Josh Hawkins and Elsa Evans in the 1k, and Leyton Finn in the 2k race. All results now available.

Harriers have continued to train hard and compete wherever possible. This week we report on how Elise & Ollie Thorner are progressing whilst on their College scholarships in the USA – you will see that their times are coming down as their performances continue to sparkle! Meanwhile, given that the final Gwent League was cancelled, due to waterlogging, we also have the first report of Harriers affected by Coronavirus – not directly to their health but due to the cancellation of a mass event. Who knows if this will be the start of serious disruption to the sporting calendar?? Meanwhile, get ready for the final round of this year’s Clive & Angela Thomas Street 5k Series to be held on Wednesday 11th March.
