Cotswold Way 2005

Congratulations to Angela Thomas for competing in her 10th consecutive Cotswold Way Relay and who was awarded an official T-shirt by Chairman, Paul Chadwick in recognition of her services to this popular team event. Also competing were Terry Kingham and Chris Storie who have each completed 11 races each. It was perfect weather this year for the 52 clubs who took part. Wells City Harriers fielded 2 teams — the Ladies calling themselves Mendip Mudlarks with Viv’s sister Lorraine competing for the Harriers on one of the hardest legs, Leg 2 and Liz Green from Weston AC assisting once again, with thanks to husband Peter for letting her out on her wedding anniversary! Both celebrated at the White Post later on with other members of the teams. Best male performance of the day was from Pete Darton from YOAC running Leg 3, the same as his brother and finishing 4th overall which is at least 3 minutes than last year.  Other strong performance were from Tim Hamblin running his debut Cotswold Way and soon to be married to Sue Hammer who also ran her first race for the Mudlarks, Steve Masters was 11th, Paul Chadwick 12th and Aidan Phippard 21st also running his first race for WCH. Of the women Laurie King finished strongest in 26th, Sue Cook 31st and Tatiana Storie 35th. Congratulations to all who took part this year — the ladies finished 4th overall and the men 30th overall. Full results can be found on the Cotswold Way website.
